Sex addiction therapy for Orthodox Jewish men, women and couples

You’ve davened, made kabbalos, and promised yourself never again. It came back anyway.
If you’re frum and struggling with porn, affairs or something you’ve never said out loud, you’re carrying two weights at once. One is the behavior. The other is the fear of what happens if anyone finds out: your marriage, your kids’ shidduchim, your place in shul.
So you’ve tried to fix it alone. Filters. More learning. Tears at Neilah. A fresh start after every Yom Kippur. And it keeps coming back.
That isn’t a failure of emunah. It’s a pattern, and patterns can be treated.
You won’t have to explain yourself
Whether you’re Chassidish, yeshivish, Modern Orthodox or somewhere heimish in between, you won’t have to translate yourself here. I’ve sat with a lot of frum men, women and couples over the years. Shidduchim, filters, your rav, what people in shul would say: none of it needs explaining.
What working with me looks like
Your values set the goal. If your goal is no porn and no masturbation, or intimacy only within your marriage, that’s the goal we work toward. I won’t try to talk you out of it, and I won’t treat your Yiddishkeit as the problem.
Shame isn’t the treatment. You’ve had plenty of it. It hasn’t stopped you. I won’t use religious language as a stick.
Your rav, if you want him. With your written permission, I’ll coordinate with your rabbi or mentor. He handles halacha and teshuvah. I handle the patterns, what’s underneath them (often trauma) and the damage to the marriage. Many of my clients use both.
Your wife gets support of her own. If she just found out, she’s in shock too. Partners often join the first session, though they don’t have to. She deserves help that is there only for her, and a plan for shalom bayis that doesn’t ask her to pretend.
Real privacy. Sessions are online, from anywhere private. No waiting room where a neighbor sees you. I don’t bill insurance, so nothing goes out unless you send it yourself.
I work with frum women too: women who struggle themselves, and wives who are reeling from what they discovered.
How it works
- A free, confidential 15-minute call. Ask anything, including how I work with Orthodox clients. No pressure to commit.
- The first session is a conversation. No forms to fill out. Your wife can join if you both want that.
- A full assessment of your history comes a little later, so the plan fits what’s really going on.
- Weekly sessions, at least for the first year. Many men come twice a week to build momentum faster.
- An intensive, if you need a stronger start. See the two-week intensive in Israel.
Who I am
I’m Brad Salzman, LCSW, a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) with 25 years treating sexual addiction. I founded the New York Sexual Addiction Center in 2010 on West 34th Street in Manhattan. I’m a graduate of Yale and Columbia.
Over the years I’ve spoken about this in Jewish settings again and again, including a shiur on overcoming addictions with Rabbi Dr. Abraham Twerski and a talk at Beis Tefillah Yonah Avraham. Jew in the City also ran a profile: “This Orthodox Jewish Therapist is Helping Sex Addicts to Take Back Their Lives.”
“Brad Salzman is probably one of the best therapists I know in the world today. His empathy and insight are tremendous. He is a gift to the community, and I strongly encourage anyone seeking a therapist to take advantage of his outstanding skills.”

Common questions
Do you only work with Orthodox clients?
No. Most of my clients aren’t Jewish at all. But a lot of frum men and women have sat across from me over the years, and I know the community well.
Will anyone find out?
Not from me. What you share stays confidential within the limits of the law, I don’t bill insurance, and online sessions mean no one sees you walk in.
Am I a bad person because I can’t stop?
No. Some of the most sincere, committed people I’ve worked with struggled with exactly this. Getting help is taking responsibility.
