Sex and porn addiction treatment in Israel, in English

Brad Salzman, LCSW, CSAT

You’ve decided something has to change. Now you need to know where to go, and for how long.

I’m Brad Salzman, LCSW, CSAT, a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist. I treat sex and porn addiction, infidelity, and betrayal, in English, for men, women, and couples from Israel and abroad. I see clients in person in Ramat Beit Shemesh, Israel, and offer online therapy anywhere in the world. To start, book a free, confidential 15-minute call.

Maybe you’re in Israel and you want help in your own language. Maybe you’re in America and you’ve heard that people come here to get serious about recovery. Maybe your wife found out last week, and you’re both looking at a screen full of options at one in the morning, trying to work out which one is real.

This page is for that decision. It answers the questions people ask me most on the first call: who this treatment is for, whether to come in person or work online, how long it takes, what happens when you get home, and what happens with your wife.

I’ve treated sexual addiction for 25 years, and it’s my whole field. Whichever way you come, I’m personally involved in planning, coordinating, and supervising your treatment.

Call or WhatsApp (212) 529-7900 in the US, or +972 58-400-8413 in Israel, or book a free, confidential 15-minute call.

Who is this treatment for?

You don’t need to hit a certain bottom to deserve help. Most people who call me recognize themselves in at least one of these:

  • You’ve promised to stop and you keep going back. Filters, deleted apps, a new start every Sunday. The behavior keeps finding a way around all of it.
  • There’s been a discovery. Your wife found something, or you told her, and the marriage is suddenly on the line.
  • Something big is at stake. Your marriage, your job, your reputation, your kids.
  • Weekly therapy has stalled. You understand a lot about why you do it. You still do it.
  • You’re living a double life. One person at home and at work, someone else late at night with a phone.

Some people come for porn that has taken over hours of every day. Some come for affairs, paid sex, or online relationships. Some come for things they’ve never said out loud to anyone. None of it will shock me, and none of it needs to be dressed up before you tell me.

You also don’t need to be Jewish, religious, or living in Israel. People come to me from all over, and the work is built around the person in front of me. If you’re frum and want to know how I work with that, see sex and porn addiction treatment for Orthodox Jewish men.

Is this rehab?

No, and for most people that’s good news.

When people search for sex addiction rehab in Israel, they usually picture a residential facility: months away, a ward, a group of strangers, and a schedule set for everyone at once. What I offer is different. It’s focused treatment for sexual addiction and betrayal, built around you, and personally planned and supervised by a specialist who knows your whole story.

How it differs:

  • A specialist in sexual addiction and betrayal. Every hour goes to what brought you here: the behavior, what drives it, and the damage to your marriage.
  • Weeks, not months, away from home. In person, the intensive runs one to four weeks. Your family, your work, and your life are waiting for you when you get back.
  • My personal involvement. I plan, coordinate, and supervise your treatment myself, from the first call to the written aftercare plan.

There are people who do need a residential level of care. If drinking or drugs mean you need medical detox first, or you’re not safe right now, that comes first, and I’ll tell you so honestly on the first call. If you can be safe at home and the sexual behavior is the core problem, you very likely don’t need to disappear for months.

In person or online?

There are three ways to work with me. All three are in English, and in all three I personally plan, coordinate, and supervise your treatment.

An intensive in Israel, in person. One to four weeks in Ramat Beit Shemesh, customized to you. This is for people who need a strong, concentrated start: after a discovery, after years of failed attempts, or when the stakes are too high to go slowly. The intensive in Israel page walks through what it includes and how the time is structured.

An online intensive. Usually three to six months of concentrated work by video. You stay home, keep working, and keep your family routine, while recovery gets far more of your week than one hour. This suits people who can’t travel, or who want the depth of an intensive spread over a longer stretch. See how intensives work.

Online therapy, anywhere in the world. Steady, ongoing work from any private room. Many people start here, and almost everyone continues here after an intensive. If you live in Israel, this is also how most English speakers here keep going week to week.

How do you choose? A rough guide:

  • Come in person if you need to step out of your life to see it clearly, if there’s been a crisis at home, or if you’ve tried weekly work and it hasn’t held.
  • Go online if you can’t be away, if you need to keep everything at home quiet for now, or if you want a longer runway.
  • Not sure? That’s exactly what the free call is for. In 15 minutes I can usually tell you which makes more sense, and I’ll say so plainly.

How long does treatment take?

The intensive is short. In person, one to four weeks. Online, usually three to six months. The length depends on what’s going on, what’s at stake, and how much time you can give. I set it with you after we’ve talked, not from a menu.

Recovery is longer. An intensive is a strong start. The patterns that took years to build take steady work to replace, and that work happens at home, inside your real marriage and your real job. That’s why most people continue with me in online therapy after the intensive.

What you shouldn’t need is a season away from your family. You do the concentrated work here, and you go home with a plan to keep it.

What happens when I go home?

People worry about this more than anything. “I’ll do well while I’m there. Then I’ll get on the plane and it’ll all come back.”

That fear is reasonable, and it’s why the end of the intensive matters as much as the start. Every intensive ends with a written aftercare plan. It spells out:

  • Your sobriety. I hold every client to a clear, specific definition of sobriety, set at the start and written down, so there’s no room to fool yourself.
  • Your safeguards. Your phone, your computer, your travel, and the late hours when the house is quiet.
  • Your sessions. How often we keep meeting in online therapy, and for how long.
  • Your support. The people you’ll call, and when.
  • What you do after a slip, so one bad night doesn’t turn into a bad month.

You don’t go home with a good feeling that fades in a month. You go home with a map, and with me still on the other end of it.

Will my wife be involved?

If you’re married, this didn’t only happen to you.

A discovery hits a wife like trauma. She may not be sleeping. She may be checking your phone ten times a day, furious one hour and numb the next, and wondering how she didn’t see it. None of that means something is wrong with her. That’s what betrayal does.

Here’s how partner work fits in:

  • Couples sessions. Intensives include couples sessions when you’re married and they fit your case. They give you both a place to start talking honestly, with someone in the room who knows how this goes.
  • Therapeutic disclosure. If she needs the full truth, and most wives do, we plan a therapeutic disclosure so it comes out once, completely, and in a way that helps her heal. The alternative is the truth leaking out in pieces, and every new piece lands as a fresh betrayal.
  • Support for your wife. She deserves care of her own, and I don’t refer her out. I personally plan, coordinate, and supervise her care, just as I do yours. Read more about betrayal trauma and partner support.

If there’s any chance she was exposed to an STI, she needs to know now so she can get tested. That part never waits for a planned disclosure.

Why come to Israel for treatment?

Distance helps. When you’re away from your usual schedule, your usual phone habits, and your usual excuses, you can look at your life honestly for the first time in years. You wake up somewhere new, and your days have one purpose.

Ramat Beit Shemesh is a quiet place to do that, full of English speakers. I provide your meals during the intensive, Shabbos meals included. If you’re frum, you’re never far from a minyan or a kosher meal. If you’d like, I can also connect you with frum families in recovery for Shabbos; many men prefer to keep things completely private, and that’s fine. If you’re not frum, the work is the same.

And when it’s over, you’re a short flight from home with a plan in your hand, not months behind on your life.

Common questions

Is there sex addiction treatment in Israel in English?

Yes. I treat sex addiction in English, in person in Ramat Beit Shemesh or by online therapy from anywhere. I’m personally involved in planning and supervising every client’s treatment.

Is a CSAT available in Israel?

Yes. I’m a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) with 25 years treating sexual addiction, and I see people in person in Ramat Beit Shemesh and online worldwide.

I need help with porn, not affairs. Is this for me?

Yes. I’m Brad Salzman, LCSW, CSAT, and many people I treat in Israel and online have never had an affair. Their problem is porn: hours of it, secrecy around it, and promises to stop that don’t hold. That’s exactly what I treat, in English, in person in Ramat Beit Shemesh or by online therapy.

How long would I need to be in Israel?

In person, an intensive runs one to four weeks, customized to you. If you can’t travel, an online intensive usually runs three to six months from home.

Do I have to live in Israel or be religious?

No. People come from abroad, and many of my clients aren’t religious at all. Frum clients won’t have to explain themselves, and everyone else is just as welcome.

What happens after I leave?

You leave with a written aftercare plan, and most people continue with me in online therapy from home.
