Autism

Many of the men I've treated for sex and porn addiction turned out to have autistic traits nobody had ever noticed, often because they were bright, high-functioning and good at hiding them. Those traits shaped how the addiction took hold and why ordinary recovery plans kept failing them. These posts are for those men and for the partners trying to make sense of them, because autism can explain what happened but never excuses it, and the right help works with the way their minds are built.
